Workshop Day 1
With Student Coordinators up and rolling, over 94 participants were soon verified and seated in the seminar hall.
On the commencement of the event, Trainer Mr. Suhail along with assistant trainer were warmly greeted by the coordinators after their morning pleasantries and motivational speech. There was a quick interactive session between students and trainees.
The students were then taught about the area networks and their workings. Ethernet with collision detect was also the hot topic of the discussion.
The concept of fast Ethernet and reference models such as OSI and TCP/IP reference model with the advantages, and limitations of each model was taught. Later on, we moved to the new versions of protocols and the basics of subnet masking. This then concluded with the different protocols that one must be aware of in the TCP/IP model.
With Day 1 being the theory day, the students were given CD’s with a pre-installed software set up for virtual routing developments and reference videos to consult from, and hence concluded Day 1 with a lot of new questions and new facts.
Workshop Day 2
The practical session was even more enthusiastic had it not been prompt and courteous arrangement provided by the coordinators and a handful help of students. The practical session had the students agog. Each and every student was given a kit, which was their virtual teacher and helped them practice on their own. The trainer then started the practical with teaching them how to design their own networks how to connect various devices and showing the demonstrations real time routers and switches. With the help of videos and visuals, the students learned the basics of routing.
Soon the projector started rolling and brains working as guided by the trainer, the basic practical completed with the minds being “stormed with knowledge” and the young brains were ready to go for the final testing of their virtual setups.
A list of Software used were –
- Cisco Packet Tracer
- Telnet Client
- Wire shark
As soon as the practical got over, it was exam time, time for a final quest. A quest that would give them the gateway to India’s Biggest Networking Championship Grand Finale. The quest started with a simple problem. With all the students competing with each other, the fastest three were chosen. With certificates ready, the students were soon certified and cleared their many newfound queries.
Hence, accomplishing to plant the seed of learning and networking in the minds of the students, the day was completed.
